Audubon Adventures

A curriculum supplement developed by the National Audubon Society for use in grades 4, 5, and 6.

Audubon Adventures is a curriculum supplement developed by the National Audubon Society for use in grades 4, 5, and 6. The lessons and hands-on activities develop in children an understanding of birds, wildlife, and their habitats, and expose learners to new ideas and perspectives that stimulate thinking and encourage skills development in multiple disciplines. What is included in the Audubon Adventures materials?

  • Audubon Adventures: five separate editions of a newspaper, written for students, about birds, wildlife, and habitats (enough copies for 32 students).

  • Audubon's Animal Adventures: a video specially edited for classroom use.

  • Audubon Adventures Teacher's Resource Manual: other classroom support materials.

If you would like to sponsor a classroom, please send a check for $35 made out to the Black Hills Audubon Society, PO Box 2524, Olympia, WA 98507. Put "Audubon Adventures" in the "for" space. BHAS has already received several applications for subscriptions, and would like to fund as many as possible. If you are a teacher and would like a free subscription for your classroom, please send us your name, school name and address, telephone number, e-mail if available, grade level and number of students. BHAS will pay for subscriptions on a first come, first served basis, subject to availability of funds. For more information, see
