A Flock of Lorikeets I See
A flock of lorikeets I see,
Lynette M. Arden lives in Adelaide, South Australia. Adelaide is blessed with the presence of many beautiful parrots. At present there is quite a controversy over government laws allowing various species to be shot by fruit and nut growers in the vicinity because of crop damage. Petitions have been circulating at various places, such as the Adelaide Zoo (where Lynette works as a volunteer) protesting at the killings. Rainbow lorikeets in the wild have been declared an 'Unwanted Organism' under the Australian Biosecurity Act 1993. © 2001 Lynette M. Arden |
